The Night Owl Blues Band includes one of South Texas’ premiere harmonica players, “Harpin’ ” Tracy Herron. Tracy Herron became interested in music at a young age and was influenced greatly by the likes of Muddy Waters and other Blues icons. An accomplished musician and songwriter in his own right, Tracy has recorded several CDs showcasing his tremendous harmonica and singing talents. A native of Ferriday, Louisiana, he grew up with cousin Jerry Lee Lewis, who was another big musical influence. Michael Parks is a successful recording artist in his own right and has been responsible for a number of exceptional tunes during his extensive musical career. His latest efforts have been a collaboration with Texas Johnny Cornett on several songs. “Texas Johnny and the Night Owl Blues Band” formed in 2013 when lead singer Texas Johnny Cornett recorded his first song (a cover of B.B. King’s “Rock Me Baby”) at Gilley’s Recording Studio. All members worked on that song and ever since they have buried themselves alive in the blues while working on their upcoming Bluestream CD release, “Real Blues.” Rhythm guitarist, Singer-songwriter and Executive Producer Mike Parks has added an extra dimension to the Night Owls. From his early days with the Parking Meters to his present successful Nashville songwriting career, Mike’s talents are noticeable on every one of the band’s recordings. A mainstay at the Kerrville Music Festival for many years, his teaming with singer-songwriter Johnny Cornett has given the Night Owl Blues Band a tremendous songbook of original music.
