Bees Deluxe is a Boston-based acid blues band comprised of musicians from London, England and the Massachsuetts area. They write original songs and instrumentals and perform extended improvisations on re-arranged classics and stand blues and jazz songs such as "God Bless the Child" by Holiday/Herzog and "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" by Zawinul. The band's favored line-up is as a quartet featuring Guitar bass, drums and keyboards. They use the term "acid" to distinguish themselves from their contemporaries who tend to favor a narrower range of material and who play them in a more rigid and codified manner. The guitar player Conrad Warre plays using as hybrid picking technique with his bare hands that can be mistaken for Mark Knopfler at times, while using more aggressive tonal ranges reminiscent of Jeff Beck's signature sounds. The band has self-released 5 albums and one EP.
