Original blues & rockabilly/Blues is about dealing with life’s ups and downs, mostly downs. This means anger, hurt, loneliness, and hard luck, occasionally interrupted by love-making, drinking, and dancing your ass off. Musically, these songs are pretty simple but they have a lot of emotion. Some are upbeat and happy, others are slow and brooding. There’s swamp blues, funky blues, country blues, rockabilly, and even some touches of psychedelic weirdness (on Dust). All vocals, guitars, bass, harmonica, and some keyboard and percussion parts are by Dan. Doug Marks plays drums on all the songs except Can Kickin’ Blues. Richard Huebner plays organ on Waiting for My Train, synth tracks on Witching Hour, and piano on Come Back Home to Me, Knockin’ On Your Door, and Dance Your Blues Away.
