Jim Kahr is American through and through. Born and raised in Chicago, he grew up in the electro blues scene. He played with many well-known musicians from a young age, e.g. Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Champion Jack Dupree and Jimmy Rogers. Stars like John Lee Hooker and Freddi King have also hired him. Jim Kahr only came to terms with his name and roots relatively late and noticed that his great-grandparents emigrated from Burgenland to Chicago in 1910. Now he is "back to the roots" in Austria for a blues day in the AK.
