Keith Richards once said that Mitch Ryder was "one of the most exciting singers to ever emerge on the music scene". In the more than 50 years of his musical work, Mitch Ryder has celebrated great success and suffered a few setbacks, but the almost 78-year-old "with the lurking vibrato in his voice" has never lost his bite and his vision and is today as agile and popular as Never. Ryder himself, who recently relocated from Michigan in the north to Georgia in the deep south of the USA, calls the album »a reflection of my musical direction since I moved.« And so on »Georgia Drift« there are wonderful, by Gospel and blues influenced songs such. B. "Lord" in the typical Georgia style, the gospel-inspired "Salvation" where even the subtlest banjo and violin can be heard, or the touching ballad "Jack" where Mitch's voice is only accompanied by piano and violin .That Mitch Ryder still has the groove is proven by titles like »Mask« and »Soul«, which animate you to rock along immediately, while pieces like »Beautiful« or »Naked« are prime examples for grandiose Rhythm & Soul songs.
