Friar's Point Band is a contemporary blues band based out of the Lehigh Valley, Pa. and has been on the Northeast Regional Music Scene since 2005. The band takes it's name from the Legendary town in Mississippi where Muddy Waters heard Robert Johnson playing on the porch of Hirsberg's Drug Store and was so intimidated by RJ's guitar playing that he left town.
Friar's Point has been semi-finalists at the 25th, 26th & 27th International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee.Their resume also includes performances at Central Pa. Arts Festival State College, Pa., Penn's Peak Jim Thorpe, Pa. Godfrey Daniels and Musikfest Bethlehem, Pa. To name a few.
