Thirteen new original tracks, bearing the unmistakable stamp of singer and harmonica player Jr Johnny, who, as on previous occasions, is backed by Stephen Munnich on guitars, David Pastorius (Jaco's nephew) on bass, and Bjarne Kjaer on drums. The four musicians have shaped this new release, titled Danger Zone, in which many of the songs have clear stylistic references to Lou Reed or Van Morrison in the way they are performed. Fans who decide to get a copy of the album will find, in addition to the thirteen new compositions, some well-known covers such as Got My Mojo Working, Baby, Please Don't Go, Spoonful, and Tin Pan Alley, in personal interpretations that are somewhat different from the traditional versions. The tracks were recorded almost entirely in one take. Direct and with hardly any overdubs, the result is vibrant and very rewarding.
