The Dan Lawson Band is a high energy "boogie blues" band. Dan has been hailed as "one of the best blues guitarists in the country" by the likes of guitar maker Ken Parker(Parker Guitars), and the album Bill 'n Hel's Kitchen has been hailed as, "high-energy boogie blues...that would make Clapton proud". The track "Let's Ride" has been picked up by MTV "Road Rules" and ABC's "Making the Band" as well as ESPN. Do you like the blues? If you do, this is about as good as it gets. The Dan Lawson Band is a high-energy boogie blues band that brings rock n roll together with the blues to create a stunning sound. The mix of Dan Lawsons thundering guitar licks, GoGs impeccable timing on the drums, the rock steady bass of Billy Carpenter, and the sweet fingers of Gary Voller on the Hammond organ and piano make for a unique brand of lively danceable music. Their sound is perfect for every venue from smoky bar rooms to the largest of arenas. Dan has played with many bands and has also served as studio and band guitarist for such national touring acts as Nashvilles Nathalie Cote. He was also a finalist in the Jimi Hendrix Guitar Competition. He ranges from ripping rock guitar solos to country licks and down-and-dirty blues. But his real love is a mix of styles called Boogie Blues. Songs like Jo Mama and Play the Blues are perfect examples of this style with effortless guitar lines and full backing band. Yet, he is not limited in any sense. The band can play songs that range from high energy rock to more somber tunes like Just Aint Easy, an Allman Brothers tune that appears on this CD. Dans unique guitar style thrills fans and keeps them dancing for hours.
