British harmonica player, based in Germany. Born and raised in London, he has been a full-time musician since 1975. He has developed his own style over decades, combining traditional blues playing with elements from other genres. Thus he creates a modern sound that can be seen as a bridge from the blues roots into the modern age. He has participated in many sessions as a studio musician, is a welcome guest on stages on every continent, and is a figurehead on this instrument. In addition to his work with the blues harmonica, Steve Baker is also a multiple book author, leader of harmonica seminars, worldwide ambassador for Hohner (founded by Matthias Hohner in Trossingen in 1857) and works tirelessly for his harmonica mission from his home near Hamburg.
