“Cooking melodies” is the first album of Carlos Childe, a disk prepared without additives or colouring in the kitchen of the studies Tolos House by the chef according to Grandio, seasoned with a dash of blues and swing, and much, much Foundation.A good guitarist, composer and effective singer (whose tone reminds me of today's Bob Dylan), Carlos Childe delights us in his first album with a series of songs rooted in the tradition of Texas blues and jazz, all sprinkled with a lot of swing and groove in each and every one of the album's performances. Carlos also flirts with old traditional songs such as The House Of The Rising Sun in a very intense and particular version, but he also includes eight of his own songs with a successful, modern and contemporary vision as far as arrangements are concerned. Twelve good songs that pass with a high mark and denote the good taste and good future prospects that our man has. The musicians who accompany him are in their place and provide tradition, with good examples of professionalism and knowledge of what is expected of them. Excellent work by the brothers Luis and Juan Tinaquero on guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin and double bass respectively and superb Victor Sánchez on saxophones and clarinet.
