According to the experts, Lefthand Freddy has been part of the Eredivisie of the Blues for many years! Lefthand Freddy (Fred Reining, 1958) first made himself known as a solo artist in the mid-80s, whereby he does not hide his love for the 'old classics' and stands out for his creative play and original approach. In the early 1990s he formed 'Lefthand Freddy & The Aces', with which he released a total of 4 CDs in the period up to 2002, all of which were cheered by the national and international music press (the 1st release 'Buried In Blues' has since become a collector's item !). In addition, the band tours in Belgium, Germany and Italy and plays at major major festivals (Gloucester Blues Festival, Leverkusener Jazztage, Sziget Budapest). At the end of the 90s the trio is strengthened with keyboardist William Kooistra, who is on stage for the first time on the 4th CD 'Urban Blues Adventures' and proves to be an important asset during the many performances with his Hammond. In February 2006, in a studio in Groningen, the first recordings of the currently last CD 'Back On Track', with the new bass player Feico Nijdam and under the new name: Lefthand Freddy. The release is in June and the reactions from the media and the public are again very positive. In 2007 the band plays for the 2nd time at the well-known Sziget festival in Budapest and makes a big impression there. Unfortunately keyboardist and friend William Kooistra dies later that year, forcing Fred to take a considerable rest and later decides to continue in the familiar 'power trio' line-up.After playing in almost the same composition for almost 20 years, in September 2009 drummer Hans Waterman (ex Cuby & The Blizzards, Solution etc.) participated for the first time. His experience and approach inspire Lefthand and provide new impetus and gaming pleasure. In 2011 bass player André van der Werf makes his appearance and Fred's son and guitar player Berend 'Boogie B' Reining have gained a permanent place in the rhythm section.
