If you enjoy the swing and jive styles of the 1940s—and if you’re a fan of Louis Prima or Louis Jordan—you’re sure to be thrilled by the album we’re reviewing here. Aside from Billy Sheets himself, who is outstanding with his baritone vocals, special mention must go to Steve Catalano; his alto and—especially—tenor sax solos are simply unbeatable. The entire combo (The Fabulous Blue Diamonds) delivers high-energy, top-notch swing that keeps you snapping your fingers from start to finish. Returning to the frontman, his "shouter" vocal style is at times reminiscent of the incomparable R&B singer Roy Brown.
