".....In 1999 Nuno released “Blues On The Outside”, again with double Trouble, and tours with this superb rhythm section to release the album. Again, rave reviews from the media.Blues on The Outside’s first track (The Grass is greener) was the top chart in all Internet blues radio stations according to Live 365 (24 hours radio monitoring). A canadian promoter and record company executive heard the record and invited Nuno for the 25th edition of the Montreal International Jazz Festival in 2001, followed by other presentations in Quebec , Ottawa . He was considered by the critic as the best blues guitar player of the festival and his presentation one of the best of the latest editions of the festival. Nuno was once again invited in 2004 , after the release of his album Twelve Hours and again played Quebec and Ottawa and also the Montremblant Blues Festival, announced along with Keb Mo, Jimmy Vaughan and others. Born in 1938 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Larry Johnson is an expert East Coast Country Bluesman who sings the blues, backed by his beautiful Stride Guitar playing (a two-finger pick style using thumb and first finger). The re-emergence of Larry Johnson has been one of the delights of recent years. When he started playing music, as a transplanted Georgian in New York City in the 1960s, Johnson was a friend and apprentice to such venerable artists as Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee, Big Maybelle and especially Rev. Gary Davis. He remains at the peak of his powers, causing jaws to drop with his supremely confident picking. Following his previous solo release with Armadillo Music Blues For Harlem, Larry was joined for Two Gun Green by Brooklyn guitarist Brian Kramer and his band The Couch Lizards. Sam Charters who wrote extensive liner notes for the project praised Brian & his crews writing. The group working with Larry on this album reflect some of the new realities of the blues we're deeply fortunate he's here with Brian and the Couch Lizards to lay it down for us. Unlike his brother Chris -- perhaps too easy a comparison but one hard to avoid, as they're not only related by blood but by taste -- Rich Robinson doesn't wander into the mystic when he steps away from the Black Crowes. He remains rooted in the earth, grinding out grittier elements of the Crowes, the rangy riffs and deep grooves that keep them connected to a heritage that stretches back to the Stones and the Allmans. The Ceaseless Sight, his third solo album and also his best, revels in that thick Southern sound, delving into a thick, dirty rhythm on the opening "I Know You" and returning often, finding variations within the slow blues churn of "The Giving Key" and funk of "Inside." Robinson isn't just about loud guitars on The Ceaseless Sight, though. He quickly slides into sun-bleached acoustic folk-rock, easing into "Down the Road" and "One Road Hill" early into the album, but where his brother would open up these neo-hippie vibes and find an endless groove, Rich Robinson carves away the fat and focuses on the song. This precision is a blessing, as it gives The Ceaseless Sight an immediacy but also a welcoming warmth, as the album is about song as much as it is about sound. Robinson may be too conversational of a vocalist, blending into his guitar tapestry instead of standing apart, but ultimately there's something endearing about this humble delivery because it suggests that he'll do nothing to stand in the way of the songs; he's here to serve their melody and feel, and he does so quite charmingly on The Ceaseless Sight.

A big part of Chicago Blues died when Hound Dog left us in 1975!

A living link to blues history and an award-winning blues singer, guitarist, Zac Harmon is set to release Long As I Got My Guitar on October 1st on Catfood Records, produced by Grammy-winner Jim Gaines (Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Journey.) Long As I Got My Guitar features ten songs performed in Harmon’s inimitable funky, soul-blues style. Backed by his regular touring group plus Catfood Record’s owner Bob Trenchard (bass), Richy Puga (drums), Johnny McGhee (guitar) Dan Ferguson (keyboards) and SueAnn Carwell and Corey Lacey (background vocals), the tracks were co-penned by Harmon and Trenchard. The new album is a follow up to his 2019 Mississippi Bar BQ, released to critical acclaim. Harmon started a solo career after working as a studio musician, then songwriter and producer. He contributed to major films, TV shows and national commercials. Harmon wrote songs for Troop, Karyn White, Evelyn “Champagne” King, Freddie Jackson, the Whispers, K-Ci & Jo and the O’Jays.  He wrote and produced songs for reggae band, Black Uhuru’s Grammy nominated album, Mystical Truth. After composing and performing blues songs for a movie score, Harmon embarked on recording his first blues project, 2003’s Live at Babe & Ricky’s Inn. Multiple awards later by The Blues Music Awards and others plus several acclaimed album releases, Harmon’s new Long As I Got My Guitar is a fine record, showcasing why Harmon has become one of the Blues’ strongest live performers. Harmon grew up in the Farish Street district of Mississippi, home of Elmore James. Harmon’s mother played piano and, in her role as pharmacist, tended to such legendary figures as Muddy Waters, Albert King and Little Milton. Next door lived a music instructor who regularly hosted Duke Ellington and Cab Calloway. Another neighbour, Bill Farris, recorded Skip James in his home. “Deal With The Devil” wastes no time in stirring up some fine, smouldering blues-rock. Harmon’s guitar is front and centre, effortlessly spitting out fiery licks. Harmon’s vocals are a delight, smoother and more rounded than many a blues singer, veering more towards the classic Stax soul sound. The band keeps the arrangement airy and light, with plenty of shuffling percussion and moments of nuance, lending a wonderfully polished sheen to the track. Trenchard is no slouch on bass, but Harmon is undoubtedly the star. “Crying Shame” shifts the pace a little, slowing things down to a lovely country-blues tempo. The song washes through like a cool breeze. Harmon’s voice alone would be enough to keep you hooked, but the relaxed ensemble playing feels just as fresh. “This probably is the most memorable record of my career,” reflects Harmon. “Bob Trenchard and I were so much on the same page with all that we went through in 2020 that it spawned some incredibly emotional song testimonials.” “Ashes To The Wind” is a fine case in point, a remarkably affecting blues-soul number which rolls by with loving energy, stirring up shadows of the great 60s and 70s soul-men. It’s the little touches which will draw you in, but the glue that binds this music tight is the aforementioned unity between the players. Honesty and togetherness imbue this entire album with a warm radiance which is never less than charming. The title-track smokes and swaggers. Harmon displays wonderful acumen, firing off riffs and runs with consummate ease. “Soul Land” brings more of a laid-back, 80s style, reminiscent of the work of Stevie Wonder. “Everything around me sings in harmony,” sings Harmon and you can’t help but agree. “Imagine A Prayer” sparkles with keyboard vamps, passionate vocals and harmonies. The variety here is part of this album’s appeal. Paired with fantastic playing and open-hearted delivery, there’s much to savour. “After a year of picking up my guitar and then putting it down,” says Harmon, “I finally realize that as long as I got my guitar, all is good with my soul.”

"I started out recording a few songs for fun back in 2019 and somehow ended up with a whole album recorded between lockdowns in 2020. None of this would have been possible without such encouragement from family and friends. The album was recorded at Foxden Studios in Sheffield by Grammy award winning producer Chris Wilkinson, who took a few average tunes added a bit of Nashville and turned them into something far more than they probably deserved !
Rather than just make the results available in digital format I decided it might be nice to make a physical CD and try to raise some money for a worthy cause, so all proceeds (basically what you pay minus 10% Bandcamp fees and postage) from sales will go to support the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).This is a short run of 50 copies and hopefully we can sell them all, if you want to pay more, all money will go to a good cause and who knows drop me a note and I might sign it for you or pop round your house and play a few songs from it...To really add the finishing touches I was lucky enough to have the wonderful artwork produced by legendary Martin Bedford".

It is not moored to an intellectual and often overly academic approach found in its counterpart Jazz. It is alive with spirit and excitement. As the foundation of all popular music in America, Blues has many very familiar elements.  Big Daddy T's House Rockin' Blues band mixes these elements of Rock, Soul, Jazz and Funk in a variety of different ways. Big Daddy T can perform as a duet or as a quintet and everything in between.  This blend of ingredients is “cooked on high heat” by a group of highly talented musicians with a stage show that can only be described as exhilarating.  The Quintet is made up of Tony "Big Daddy T" Wisler Vocals and Bass; Billy Burke Guitar, Joe Chellman Drums, W. Micheal Lewis on Organ and Johnny Pie Harmonic/Big Daddy T grew up in Southern California and discovered the Blues at an early age. “I can remember listening to Josh White at age 14 and being captivated by songs like ‘One Meatball’ and ‘Well, Well, Well.’” He has performed professionally in Atlanta, Nashville, Texas and Southern California as a studio musician and stage performer. T has worked with Johnny Pierce and Jim Emerich, Co-Producers and Co-Founders of Grammy nominated Nashville Production Company, Cedar House Productions. He has also performed behind Gold and Platinum Singer/Songwriter David Pameranz. His session credits include CunninLynguist break-out CD “A Piece of Strange”. Particularly notable is Tony’s work on the track, “Caved In”, featuring Cee-Lo Green.He studied under Gold Record Session Guitarist Barry Richman and George Marinelli of Bruce Hornsby and the Range and Bonnie Raitt. They are still friends and Tony considers each as primary influences on his bass playing philosophy. Influenced by Hot Jazz from the 20’s, Blues artists from the 30’s, Big Band Swing from the 40’s and house rockin’ Electric Blues from the 50’s, 60’s and beyond, Big Daddy T will entertain with high energy music and a spirit of enthusiasm worthy of any venue.
