American singer and guitarist. Born as John May in Michigan, USA. Johnson City, East Tennessee – hometown of Bleu Jackson, singer, songwriter and guitar-player. This has been the starting point of a career in music that has been a model of consistency in terms of staying true to your ideals. It's also an expression of allegiance to the music of the South – especially the blues. Here's a guy who does not jump on the bandwagon to join the latest fads. Bleu Jackson is a hard-headed Southerner and proud to be a traditionalist. His blues are anchored in this spirit. Bleu Jackson lives the blues and carries it like a second skin. But he's not stuck in his ways. Bleu Jackson started his career as a guitarist in the mid-sixties and already at the end of the sixties he belonged to the R&B "Chitlin circuit". He started writing songs and moved to Nashville in 1972. He got a job in Nashville as an assistant engineer at Starday/King Records Nashville Recording Studios, where he worked on sessions for James Booker, Johnny Halliday, The Gonzo Band, Earl Gaines and Johnny Jones. Bleu Jackson also played in a band that accompanied, among others, Towns van Zandt and Guy Clark. Bleu has also played as a guitarist for many blues artists including Home Sick James, Charles Walker and Al Garner. This new release, in digipak version, is a must for fans of 'Southern Roots Music'. The album also features ex-lead singer of Commander Cody and harmonica player Billy C Farlow. In short, a lot of well-known names for Blues lovers.
