Deeply steeped in the sauce of the Blues, Lightnin Rod & The Thunderbolts meld their rock sound with songs of the greatest blues players ever.  Frontman Lightnin Rod Wilson is a charge of musical talent by himself, but add in Jimmy Seville on bass, and Greg Kitzmiller on drums, and voltage ignites. Blues rocker Lightnin Rod has merged his talent with Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Stevie Nicks, The Allman Brothers, Delbert McLinton, and Joe Bonnamassa, both live and in the studio. The band has received an abundance of awards in the worlds of both Rock and Blues. Currently playing around Northeast Florida, Lightnin Rod and the Thunderbolts bring down the house with their blues rock sound, playing both covers and original tunes.  Josie Award Nominee for Blues Artist of the Year for 2017. Gold Artist Award, Grinde Award Winner, two #1 MP3 chart-toppers in two different musical genres, “Sugar & Spice” Music Video was used for the 2010 NME (First For Music News) Award Show. That is just a few of Lightnin’ Rod's accomplishments. He has shared the stage with members of the Allman Brothers, Bob Seger, The Steve Miller Band, Cher, Stevie Nicks, Steppenwolf, Chuck Berry, Robert Cray, and Mitch Ryder just to name a few. Rod’s music has been called “Bob Seger Meets Eric Clapton at Muddy Waters’ House”. Always a blues rocker at heart, his music also has shades of soul, Motown, gospel and acoustic influences.
