With Benefits is the upcoming second album from Ohio’s favorite outlaw lounge band, Change It Up Charlie… and for this album the band brought some friends along for the ride.
We are bringing you, (you lucky so and so) a new album featuring some new songs, some updated old songs, covers and classics, all now with some musical help from their friends…with benefits.
The idea behind With Benefits was to do an album where a few songs feature friends of Change It Up Charlie from the Columbus music scene to guest spot and show off a bit. These musical collaborations include a mix of our usual pop remakes and jump blues and hot jazz originals. Who is Change It Up Charlie you ask? CIUC is a 5 piece ensemble That originated in 2008 with string bass player, the devilishly provocative Thom Reed. Steaming up the room and tickling your eardrums is the bewitching lead vocalist Holly Schmitt. The man with the magic fingers on lead guitar is the always cool “Peppermint” Bob Hamilton. The youngest member of the band, bringing the back beat with a smile, the drumming phenom Brandon Pettiford.
