"FIREBREWED" is ten (10) powerful tunes plus a bonus track, all featuring "Big Daddy & Red Hot Java's patented minstry of "Booty Quakin' Soul Shakin' Progressive Urban Blues." It's a Blues gumbo peppered with Soul, Funk, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Rock, but still very much BLUES!
"Big Daddy & Red Hot Java's 'Firebrewed' CD serves up sizzling Progessive Urban Blues that you've got to taste!" -- Cameron A. Bellak, World Blues Review, August 2001.
"Big Daddy & Red Hot Java is a powerful four-piece Blues band (Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass & Backup VOcals, Drums & Percussion) playing original Blues tunes from our two critically acclaimed CDs, “The 24th Hour” and “Firebrewed,” tunes from our upcoming live and studio CDs, plus Blues classics performed with our own special flavor. Whether it’s for thousands of people at a large international Blues or Jazz festival, or at a small pub, we always deliver high-energy Progressive Urban Blues that will truly touch your heart. Formed in 1995. First CD "The 24th Hour" came out in 1996. Second CD "Firebrewed" released in 2001. Latest CDs (a live CD and a studio CD) to be released in 2006. We've had sixteen (16) drummers, but J. "General" Mills has held the chair for over five (5) years. We've had four bassists, but Michael "Gimmeno" Greif was the original bass player for four (4) years and has returned going on six (6) years. We've had four (4) lead guitarists, but are please to have Joel' Johnson for more than two (2) years. Lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and chief songwriter Randall "Big Daddy" Webster is the founder and leader of the band since its inception eleven years ago.
Robert Cray, Keb Mo, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, and Big Twist are major influences. We are very improvisational, pushing the Blues envelope, yet alway true to the roots" ~ Randall “Big Daddy” Webster (Singer, Songwriter, Lead Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar)/
