The second album in the solo career of the founder of Dr. Sin arrives this Friday, the 31st with a debut show at the Blue Note this Saturday, August 1st. Ivan Busic releases his second album Into the Blues this Friday, the 31st, delving into the roots of the blues that shaped his artistic identity since childhood. The project, successor to Rock and Road (2013), was born from a call, an inspiration felt on Christmas Eve.
That silent night, his wife Nathalia showed him a Fleetwood Mac album that he hadn't yet heard, from the brilliant Peter Green era. Influenced by other masters such as B.B. King, Freddie King, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and Ma Rainey, he felt a creative impulse that was impossible to ignore. Installed in the living room and surrounded only by instruments, Busic let the music happen. More than ten songs emerged in just one week. In the same period, drums, guitars and most of the arrangements were already recorded. A process as fast as it is spontaneous. To bring this sonic journey to life, Ivan also brought together musicians who are part of his history and personal admiration. On double bass is his beloved brother, Andria Busic, and on keyboards the surreal João Nogueira. Into the Blues is an album that moves between memory and instinct. “My father, André Busic, has always been my musical hero, spreading his art around the world with the Traditional Jazz Band, the Blue Gang and many other projects, never looking for the spotlight, but always faithful to music”, added Ivan.
The record is the frontman's heart and soul printed in every note. A visceral record, full of feeling, respect for roots and passion for music. A work made to warm the soul of those who created it and of all those who allow themselves to embark on this journey. In an interview with Wikimetal, Ivan spoke about what he expects from rock and metal fans' reaction to his new work: "I hope people feel the same way I feel when I listen to the album. May it bring you moments of reflection, of inspiration to give you strength in your days." To celebrate the launch of the project, Ivan Busic will perform a show at Blue Note in São Paulo.
